Biography of Dorothy Conners

For most of my life, I've been drawing and doodling but didn't take up painting until after raising four children. I began painting in oil and then moved to watercolor. With no formal instructions, I have developed my own style and it gives me pleasure to paint the things and people around me and the sights I enjoy.

My first solo exhibition was at the Aitken Bicentennial Exhibition Centre in Saint John, New Brinswick. I have exhibited with the Saint John Art Society as well, while my husband and I lived there.

My eldest daughter and I have had several exhibitions in Woodstock, New Brunswick. Now living here in Fredericton, I am a member of the "Turps Club" and we host an annual Art Exhibit.

I have also had my paintings on exhibit at the Fredericton Playhouse and at Endeavors. In January, 2010, I participated in an exhibit entitled "This Land is Your Land" with 3 other artists at Gallery Connexion.

I have also had my artwork featured in 3 issues of the New Brunswick publication, "Bread & Molasses" magazine.
